Quick answer

This farming wisdom comes from the Lord, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.

Overview

The parable concludes by tracing all such wisdom to God, who is matchless in counsel and understanding. The lesson is that God's dealings with His people, like the farmer's varied methods, flow from perfect wisdom. We can trust that His judgments and mercies alike are wisely ordered for good.

Christ at the center

Isaiah sees him most clearly: the virgin's son Immanuel, the child on David's throne, the shoot from Jesse, the light to the nations, and above all the Suffering Servant pierced for our transgressions (ch. 53).

How Isaiah 28:29 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
