Quick answer

In the last days, the LORD's mountain will be exalted above all, and all nations will stream to it. It promises a future when God's worship draws the whole world.

Overview

The 'mountain of Yahweh's house' represents Zion and the worship of the true God, raised to supreme prominence. The inflowing nations signal the inclusion of Gentiles in God's saving purposes. This finds its fulfillment in the gospel age, as people from all nations come to God through Christ and His church.

Christ at the center

Isaiah sees him most clearly: the virgin's son Immanuel, the child on David's throne, the shoot from Jesse, the light to the nations, and above all the Suffering Servant pierced for our transgressions (ch. 53).

How Isaiah 2:2 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
