Quick answer
God declares He will shake the nations and fill His house with glory as their treasures come in. The modest temple will yet be filled with God's splendor.
Overview
The 'precious things of all nations' suggests the wealth and ultimately the peoples streaming to honor God. Many in the historic Christian tradition see here a foreshadowing of Christ, the desire of nations, who filled the second temple with glory by His presence. Whether read of treasures or the Messiah, the verse promises a glory the people could scarcely imagine.
