Quick answer
In obedience to God, Isaac settles in Gerar.
Overview
Isaac heeds the Lord's direction to remain in the land rather than flee to Egypt. His dwelling in Gerar shows initial obedience to God's word. Yet the next verses reveal that Isaac's faith, like his father's, remained mixed with fear and weakness.
