Quick answer

God makes the land animals after their kinds and sees that it is good. The creatures of the earth are deliberately and well made.

Overview

God makes the various land animals, each according to its kind, and once more declares his work good. The careful repetition of 'after its kind' stresses the designed order and distinct categories within creation. This final pronouncement of goodness over the animals sets the stage for the climactic creation of humanity in God's image.

Christ at the center

From the first promise that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent (3:15), through Abraham's blessing to all nations and Judah's coming ruler, Genesis sows every seed that flowers in Christ — the true offspring, the better Adam, the ram caught for Isaac.
