Quick answer

God promises to drive out the nations, enlarge Israel's land, and protect it while the men worship.

Overview

Obedience in pilgrimage might have seemed risky, leaving farms and borders exposed, so God pledges to guard the land and even curb enemy desire for it. This was a striking promise that worship would never leave Israel vulnerable. It teaches that those who seek God first can trust Him to care for all else (Matthew 6:33).

Christ at the center

The Passover lamb whose blood turns away death, the exodus through the sea, the manna, the rock, and the tabernacle where God dwells with his people all foreshadow Jesus — our Passover, our redemption, the bread from heaven, and God-with-us in the flesh.
