Quick answer

God promises to exalt Israel in praise, name, and honor as a holy people set apart to Him. God's covenant purpose is both privilege and consecration.

Overview

God pledges to lift Israel high among the nations and to make them a holy people for His own glory. Their elevation was never for pride but for holiness and the display of God's name. This calling is fulfilled in the church drawn from every nation, called to be holy and to proclaim the praises of God in Christ (1 Peter 2:9).

Christ at the center

Moses promised a Prophet like himself to whom Israel must listen (18:15); Jesus is that Prophet, the one who keeps the covenant we broke and becomes the curse for us by hanging on a tree (Gal 3:13).
