The king decrees that all should fear the God of Daniel, the living and eternal God whose kingdom endures forever. He confesses the Lord's everlasting and unshakable reign.

Overview

Darius commands reverence for Daniel's God, describing Him as living, steadfast, and possessing a kingdom that will never be destroyed. This royal confession echoes the central message of Daniel: God's dominion outlasts every earthly empire. The eternal, indestructible kingdom proclaimed here finds its fulfillment in the everlasting reign of Christ.
