Quick answer
Daniel is told to go his way until the end, for he will rest and then rise to receive his appointed inheritance at the end of the days.
Overview
The book closes with a tender personal promise: Daniel may live out his remaining days in peace, will die ('rest'), and will 'stand' again to receive his portion at the resurrection. This is one of the Old Testament's clearest hopes of bodily resurrection and eternal reward for the faithful. For Christians it points forward to the resurrection secured by Christ, the firstfruits, in whom every believer's 'lot' or inheritance is guaranteed.
