Overview
Again the phrase 'at the time appointed' marks God's governing hand over events. This second invasion of Egypt, however, ends in frustration rather than success, as the next verse explains. The reversal shows that even a powerful oppressor is restrained when God so determines, his ambitions checked at the moment He chooses.
