Quick answer

At Paul's command the man leaped up and walked. Christ's power, working through His apostle, instantly restored what nature never gave.

Overview

Paul's loud command made the miracle public and unmistakable. The man's leaping recalls Isaiah's promise that the lame would leap like a deer in the day of salvation (Isaiah 35:6). The sign authenticated the gospel and pictured the new life Christ gives to those once unable to walk in His ways.

Christ at the center

Acts is the risen Christ continuing his work by the Spirit through the church, as the apostles preach that there is salvation in no other name under heaven.

How Acts 14:10 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
