Overview
The king, queen mother, wives, and nobility are exiled to Babylon, decapitating Judah's leadership. Though Jehoiachin is humiliated, he is later shown kindness in Babylon (2 Kings 25:27-30), and his line is preserved in Christ's genealogy (Matt. 1:11-12). Thus even in judgment God guards the messianic promise.
