Quick answer
Paul serves faithfully through both honor and dishonor, good and bad reputation, regarded as a deceiver yet being truthful. Faithfulness perseveres regardless of how the world judges it.
Overview
Paul begins a series of paradoxes describing the contradictory ways the world receives a true servant of God. Whether praised or slandered, he remains faithful, and though some call him a deceiver, he is genuinely true. These contrasts show that worldly opinion is no measure of a ministry's authenticity.
