Quick answer

Jehoiada ordered Athaliah taken out and executed away from the temple. Justice was carried out while the holy place was honored.

Overview

The priest commanded the captains to remove Athaliah and any who followed her, ordering that she not be killed within Yahweh's house. His concern to keep the temple from bloodshed shows reverence for its holiness. The removal of the usurper restores rightful and godly order to Judah.
