Overview
These lighter shields, kept in his great cedar hall, further showcased Solomon's riches and the grandeur of his reign. Like the larger shields, they were emblems of glory rather than instruments of battle. Their later loss to Shishak of Egypt (14:26) again warns that treasures laid up on earth are vulnerable to decay and plunder, unlike the imperishable treasures of God's kingdom.
