Quick answer
In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. Christ Himself ordained material support for gospel ministers.
Overview
Paul reaches the climax of his case: a direct command of the Lord Jesus (cf. Luke 10:7; Matt 10:10) that gospel preachers be supported by those they serve. This is the strongest authority in his argument. Having established the right so firmly—by custom, by Law, by priesthood, and now by Christ's own word—Paul makes his voluntary surrender of it all the more remarkable and instructive.
