Quick answer

God himself will keep them firm to the end, blameless on the day of Christ. Their final standing rests on God's faithfulness, not their own strength.

Overview

Paul assures the Corinthians that the God who began the work will 'confirm' them to the end, presenting them blameless when Christ returns. This is a foundation of Christian assurance: perseverance is ultimately God's accomplishment, not human achievement. The 'day of our Lord Jesus Christ' is the day of judgment and consummation when believers are vindicated in Christ.
