Quick answer

David asks that the blessing on his house continue forever, confident that what God blesses is blessed indeed. His prayer ends in settled assurance.

Overview

David closes his prayer trusting that God's blessing is irreversible: 'you have blessed, and it is blessed forever.' His confidence rests not in himself but in the certainty of God's word. The everlasting blessing on David's house is secured in the eternal reign of Jesus Christ, the promised seed of David.
