• 2 Chr 2:1Now Solomon decided to build a house for Yahweh’s name, and a house for his kingdom.
• 2 Chr 2:3Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, “As you dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build him a house in which to dwell, so deal with me.
• 2 Chr 2:4Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, to dedicate it to him, to burn before him incense of sweet spices, for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Yahweh our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.
• 2 Chr 2:5“The house which I am building will be great; for our God is greater than all gods.
• 2 Chr 2:6But who is able to build him a house, since heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain him? Who am I then, that I should build him a house, except just to burn incense before him?
• 2 Chr 2:9even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build will be great and wonderful.
• 2 Chr 2:12Huram continued, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, who would build a house for Yahweh, and a house for his kingdom.
• 2 Chr 3:1Then Solomon began to build Yahweh’s house at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where Yahweh appeared to David his father, which he prepared in the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
• 2 Chr 3:2He began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
• 2 Chr 3:3Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of God’s house. The length by cubits after the first measure was sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.
• 2 Chr 6:2But I have built you a house and home, a place for you to dwell in forever.”
• 2 Chr 6:5‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;
• 2 Chr 6:7Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
• 2 Chr 6:8But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart;
• 2 Chr 6:9nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son who will come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’
• 2 Chr 6:10“Yahweh has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
• 2 Chr 6:18“But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house which I have built!
• 2 Chr 6:33then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.
• 2 Chr 6:34“If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;
• 2 Chr 6:38if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;
• 2 Chr 8:1At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built Yahweh’s house and his own house,
• 2 Chr 8:2Solomon built the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
• 2 Chr 8:4He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities, which he built in Hamath.
• 2 Chr 8:5Also he built Beth Horon the upper and Beth Horon the lower, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
• 2 Chr 8:6and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
• 2 Chr 8:11Solomon brought up Pharaoh’s daughter out of David’s city to the house that he had built for her; for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where Yahweh’s ark has come are holy.”
• 2 Chr 8:12Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to Yahweh on Yahweh’s altar, which he had built before the porch,
• 2 Chr 9:3When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,
• 2 Chr 11:5Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.
• 2 Chr 11:6He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
• 2 Chr 14:6He built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Yahweh had given him rest.
• 2 Chr 14:7For he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities, and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahweh our God. We have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.
• 2 Chr 16:1In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
• 2 Chr 16:5When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and let his work cease.
• 2 Chr 16:6Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones of Rama, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.
• 2 Chr 17:12Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.
• 2 Chr 20:8They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,
• 2 Chr 26:2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
• 2 Chr 26:6He went out and fought against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
• 2 Chr 26:9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
• 2 Chr 26:10He built towers in the wilderness, and dug out many cisterns, for he had much livestock; in the lowland also, and in the plain. He had farmers and vineyard keepers in the mountains and in the fruitful fields, for he loved farming.
• 2 Chr 27:3He built the upper gate of Yahweh’s house, and he built much on the wall of Ophel.
• 2 Chr 27:4Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers.
• 2 Chr 32:5He took courage, built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, with the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in David’s city, and made weapons and shields in abundance.
• 2 Chr 33:3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he raised up altars for the Baals, made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.
• 2 Chr 33:4He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”
• 2 Chr 33:5He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of Yahweh’s house.
• 2 Chr 33:14Now after this, he built an outer wall to David’s city, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate. He encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height; and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.
• 2 Chr 33:15He took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of Yahweh’s house, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of Yahweh’s house, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
• 2 Chr 33:16He built up Yahweh’s altar, and offered sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving on it, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.
• 2 Chr 33:19His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up the Asherah poles and the engraved images, before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.
• 2 Chr 34:11They gave it to the carpenters and to the builders, to buy cut stone and timber for couplings, and to make beams for the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
• 2 Chr 35:3He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to Yahweh, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. It will no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve Yahweh your God, and his people Israel.
• 2 Chr 36:23“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given all the kingdoms of the earth to me; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all his people, Yahweh his God be with him, and let him go up.’”
• Ezra 1:2“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
• Ezra 1:3Whoever there is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Yahweh, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.
• Ezra 1:5Then the heads of fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, the priests, and the Levites, all whose spirit God had stirred to go up rose up to build Yahweh’s house which is in Jerusalem.
• Ezra 3:2Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
• Ezra 3:10When the builders laid the foundation of Yahweh’s temple, they set the priests in their clothing with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
• Ezra 4:1Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple to Yahweh, the God of Israel;
• Ezra 4:2they came near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them, “Let us build with you; for we seek your God, as you do; and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esar Haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”
• Ezra 4:3But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, said to them, “You have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God; but we ourselves together will build to Yahweh, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.”
• Ezra 4:4Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building.
• Neh 2:5I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may build it.”
• Neh 2:17Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won’t be disgraced.”
• Neh 2:18I told them of the hand of my God which was good on me, as also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. They said, “Let’s rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
• Neh 2:20Then I answered them, and said to them, “The God of heaven will prosper us. Therefore we, his servants, will arise and build; but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.”
• Neh 3:1Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brothers the priests, and they built the sheep gate. They sanctified it, and set up its doors. They sanctified it even to the tower of Hammeah, to the tower of Hananel.
• Neh 3:2Next to him the men of Jericho built. Next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.
• Neh 3:3The sons of Hassenaah built the fish gate. They laid its beams, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.
• Neh 3:13Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the valley gate. They built it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and one thousand cubits of the wall to the dung gate.
• Neh 3:14Malchijah the son of Rechab, the ruler of the district of Beth Haccherem repaired the dung gate. He built it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.
• Neh 3:15Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of the district of Mizpah repaired the spring gate. He built it, and covered it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelah by the king’s garden, even to the stairs that go down from David’s city.
• Neh 4:1But when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry, and was very indignant, and mocked the Jews.
• Neh 4:3Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, “What they are building, if a fox climbed up it, he would break down their stone wall.”
• Neh 4:5don’t cover their iniquity, and don’t let their sin be blotted out from before you; for they have insulted the builders.”
• Neh 4:6So we built the wall; and all the wall was joined together to half its height: for the people had a mind to work.
• Neh 4:10Judah said, “The strength of the bearers of burdens is fading, and there is much rubble; so that we are not able to build the wall.”
• Neh 4:17Those who built the wall, and those who bore burdens loaded themselves; everyone with one of his hands did the work, and with the other held his weapon.
• Neh 4:18Among the builders, everyone wore his sword at his side, and so built. He who sounded the trumpet was by me.
• Neh 6:1Now when it was reported to Sanballat, Tobiah, and to Geshem the Arabian, and to the rest of our enemies, that I had built the wall, and that there was no breach left in it (though even to that time I had not set up the doors in the gates)
• Neh 6:6in which was written, “It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says it, that you and the Jews intend to rebel. Because of that, you are building the wall. You would be their king, according to these words.
• Neh 7:1Now when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
• Neh 7:4Now the city was wide and large; but the people were few therein, and the houses were not built.
• Neh 12:29also from Beth Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had built themselves villages around Jerusalem.
• Job 3:14with kings and counselors of the earth, who built up waste places for themselves;
• Job 12:14Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.
