A man from the tribe of Levi living at the time of United Monarchy, first mentioned at 1Ch.26.4) only referred to as Shemaiah (שְׁמַעְיָ֫הוּ); son of Obed-edom; a brother of Jehozabad, Joah, Sachar, Nethanel, Ammiel, Issachar and Peullethai; father of Othni, Rephael, Obed, Elzabad, Elihu and Semachiah.
