A man living at the time of the Patriarchs, first mentioned at Gen.10.28) referred to as Obal (עוֹבָל), or Obal (עֵיבָל); son of Joktan; a brother of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havilah and Jobab.
