Issachar
PersonA man who founded the tribe of Issachar living at the time of the Patriarchs, first mentioned at Gen.30.18) referred to as Issachar (יִשָּׂשכָר), or Issachar (Ἰσαχάρ); son of Israel and Leah; a brother of Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun and Dinah; half-brother of: Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Joseph and Benjamin; father of Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron.
