A man from the tribe of Judah living at the time of Egypt and Wilderness, first mentioned at Exo.17.10) only referred to as Hur (חוּר); a son of Caleb and Ephrathah; half-brother of: Jesher, Shobab, Ardon, Mesha, Haran, Moza, Gazez, Sheber, Tirhanah, Regem(?), Jotham(?), Geshan(?), Pelet(?), Ephah(?), Shaaph(?), Shaaph, Sheva and Achsah; father of Uri, Shobal, Salma, Hareph, Jezreel, Ishma, Idbash, Hazzelelponi, Penuel and Ezer.
