Wisdom
God''s knowledge and goodness joined to act for the best ends — "the depth of the riches and wisdom of God."
Overview
God's wisdom is his knowledge and goodness joined to act always for the best ends by the best means. He does not merely know all things; he orders all things well. "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments" (Rom 11:33).
This is the attribute that lets us trust God in what we cannot understand. We see a tiny fragment of the picture; he sees the whole. The cross looked to everyone like catastrophe and defeat — and was in fact "the wisdom of God" (1 Cor 1:24), the deepest plan of all. When life makes no sense, divine wisdom is the ground for saying "I cannot see how this is good, but I trust the One who can." His wisdom is why his silences and his "no"s can be rested in.
