Omnipresence
God is fully present everywhere; there is nowhere we can flee from his presence.
Overview
God is omnipresent — fully present everywhere, not spread thin but wholly there in every place. "Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?... If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there" (Ps 139:7-8). There is no location, however remote or dark, outside his presence.
For the one who feels abandoned, this is quiet bedrock. You may not feel God near, but feeling is not the measure of his presence; he is "not far from each one of us" (Acts 17:27) regardless of what the heart reports. In suffering, in the hospital room, in the depths — "you are there." And in Christ this nearness becomes personal and permanent: "I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matt 28:20).
