The Glory of God
Quick answer
God's glory is the radiant weight of his presence and worth — the visible splendour of who he is.
Overview
The Hebrew kavod means weight or heaviness — the sheer significance of God made manifest. It fills the tabernacle and temple, blazes on Sinai, and shines from Moses'' face. Supremely it appears in Christ: "we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father," now in a face, now on a cross. Humanity was made to reflect this glory, forfeited it in sin, and is being remade to share it — "from one degree of glory to another."
