Matthew 3
John prepares the way; Jesus is baptized, and the Father, Son, and Spirit appear together.
John the Baptist is the hinge between the Testaments — the prophesied voice preparing the Lord's way. At Jesus' baptism the whole Trinity is present: the Son in the water, the Spirit descending as a dove, the Father's voice from heaven. It is the public inauguration of Jesus' ministry.
