The Garden of Eden
Genesis 2
A closer-up retelling: God forms the man from dust, plants a garden, gives a command, and makes the woman.
Genesis 2 zooms in from cosmos to garden. The man is formed from the ground (adamah) and animated by God's breath, placed in Eden "to work it and keep it" — priestly language. The one prohibition (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) sets the stage, and the making of the woman from the man's side establishes marriage as covenant union: "one flesh."
