The Fall
Genesis 3
The serpent's deception, the first disobedience, and its catastrophic fallout — with the first promise of a deliverer.
The serpent reframes God's good command as restrictive, and the man and woman grasp at autonomy. Shame, blame, and exile follow. Yet woven into the curse is the protoevangelium (3:15) — the seed of the woman who will crush the serpent's head — the Bible's first whisper of the gospel. They are clothed by God at the cost of life and sent east of Eden.
